Nigel McCready
Nigel McCready uses his skills in civil litigation to assist
people and businesses in a variety of matters, including landlord
and tenant conflicts, home defect claims (including unexpected
basement leaks), and contract disputes.
A graduate of Queen's University (B.A. Political Studies, 2000,
LL.B., 2003), Nigel served for two years on the editorial board
of the Queen's Law Journal. As a student member of the Queen's
Correctional Law Project, he gained clinical experience assisting
Kingston prison inmates in disciplinary hearings, Parole Board
matters, and in an appeal to the Ontario Court of Appeal. Nigel
was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004.
Nigel has represented clients at the Ontario Small Claims Court,
the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Landlord Tenant
Board (formerly the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal).
Nigel is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association. Away
from the legal world, he volunteers his time as a member of the
Board of Directors for Friends of Hospice Ottawa. When they're
not chasing after their wonderful children, you can find Nigel
and his wife exploring the running and bicycling paths of Kanata
and surrounding areas. Nigel is also an avid downhill skiier.
