Employment and Labour Law
The Mann & Partners, LLP Employment and Labour law practice
group provides legal representation and advice to employers and
employees on all aspects of labour and employment law.
Our employment and labour team has extensive experience working
with employers, employees and unions, allowing us to bring a unique
perspective in advising our clients and assisting them to resolve
employment-related disputes.
We appreciate that employment relationships are some of the most
long-lasting and important relationships people have. We know
that our clients need practical and caring advice for their particular
situations. Whether you are an individual, a business or a non-profit

We have been instrumental in successfully resolving numerous employment
and labour disputes through negotiation and mediation.
Our team has experience before many levels of provincial and federal
Courts and Administrative Tribunals. In cases involving lawsuit,
we are strong advocates for our clients throughout the entire

a team of other litigation lawyers from our firm if required.
We advise and represent small and medium-sized business and non-profit
employers.

Employees in the private and public sectors who are members of
unions are normally expected to seek advice and representation
from their unions. Sometimes, however, unionized workers have
trouble getting their union's attention on legitimate work disputes.
We often assist unionized employees by advising them of their
legal rights and obligations and help to facilitate communication
with their unions. When this approach does not work, we can
help clients to bring a "duty of fair representation"
complaint against the union with the appropriate labour board.
We can also assist federal Public Service employees in commencing
or defending complaints under the Treasury Board or Departmental
Harassment Policies.
We understand that it is emotionally and financially stressful
to be in a situation which necessitates seeking legal advice about
employment. We work with clients to develop practical, cost-effective
solutions which are tailored to their specific situations.
