2009 Campaign for Ruby Ribbon Club

The Ruby Ribbon Club is a fundraising initiative which allows local businesses and professionals to support nine local charities with a donation towards the expenses of the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Ottawa campaign. Mann and Partners supports this worthy cause through its associate, Colleen Hoey, who is working hard on this year’s Organizing Committee, and as a member of the Ruby Ribbon Club.

These local charitable organizations, including Bruce House, the lead agency, are dependent on community support. They work with modest budgets to provide care and support for persons in need in our community, and to promote awareness so that our young people do not needlessly expose themselves to risk. The financial support of the local community does make an enormous difference.

Businesses and professionals who join the Ruby Ribbon Club make a minimum annual donation of $500 (fully tax-deductible). Club members are invited to attend a networking cocktail party taking place in mid-September. The Ruby Ribbon Cocktail Party is a lively event featuring delicious creations by Todric’s Catering and a relaxed atmosphere in which to increase your business network.

This is  the ninth year that the Ruby Ribbon Club will come together to support the seven local agencies that provide services to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. Since 2001, the Club has donated over $100,000 to Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Ottawa. The Club has ensured that 100% of walkers’ pledges are turned over to the designated charitable organizations.
