Steve's Music Store and the moral and punitive damages awarded by the Court for an employer's insensitive and bad faith conduct. The recent Ontario Court of Appeals Decision of Ontario (Labour) v. United Independent Operators Ltd., was also examined. The newsletter looks at the impact the decision has for independent contractors under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
