  • Wealth, retirement and financial planning;

  • Marriage / death / divorce; and

  • Other life transitions.

In Concert for Cambodia

We are pleased to be a sponsor of "In Concert for Cambodia" at MacKay United Church, hosted by CBC Radio Ottawa's Laurence Wall.  The Guest of Honour will be His Excellency Per Sjøgren, Ambassador of Sweden to Canada.  

Now an established musical event, "In Concert for Cambodia"  raises money to provide food, health care and an education, including university studies, for young people in need in Cambodia.  

The line up includes jazz with Peter Woods and the legendary Brian Browne; 15-year-old Maria Krstic ( multi-year winner of the Canada Music Competition) on violin; Kyle Burghout (First Prize, 2015 Eastern North America Fiddling Competition) on fiddle; as well as cello, vocal, guitar and traditional Cambodian music. The concert will be followed by complimentary refreshments and a silent auction.

The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners - End of Life Care

Heather Austin-Skaret and Dr. Jeff Blackmer will be the panelists at STEP Canada's end of life care discussion.  They will discuss the background and debate the Carter v. Canada case and the evolution of the current legislation on medical assistance in dying, as well as what issues remain outstanding and where this issue is heading. They will also discuss practical issues resulting from an individual’s decision to have medical assistance in dying, such as completing a real estate transaction and estate planning.

The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is the leading international organization for trust and estate professionals.

Music on a Mission Fundraiser for Family Services Ottawa

Mann Lawyers is very pleased to continue its sponsorship of Family Services Ottawa’s Music on a Mission on October 27, 2017.  Best described as a kind of “Name that Tune” game, Music on a Mission challenges attendees to name artists, songs, movies, jingles, and television shows from every musical genre in a series of 10 exciting rounds. Lawyers and staff members have their teams formed and are studying up (ie. listening to music!) in preparation for this great event.  Family Services Ottawa (FSO), one of Ottawa’s oldest and most vital registered charities, has been helping people lead healthy, productive, fulfilling lives for over 100 years by providing a wide range of accessible counselling services, and educational and supportive programs for children, adults, and families in all their forms.
