The seven awards listed below will be presented to recipients on May 15th; we hope you join us in reconnecting and recognizing our local artists and all they have achieved.
The Victor Tolgesy Arts Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of residents who have contributed substantially to enriching cultural life in the city.
The Peter Honeywell Mid-Career Artist Award, established to recognize and encourage the achievements of Ottawa artists who have evolved beyond the emerging stage in their career to become recognized professional working artists contributing to the community.
The Emerging IBPOC Artist Award, which recognizes the achievements of artists from Ottawa’s IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, and Persons of Colour) community of all disciplines, who are in the early stages of their career in the arts and working towards becoming recognized professional artists.
The Project X Photography Award recognizes the merits of a publicly presented photographic project by an artist who demonstrates an ongoing connection to Ottawa.
The Corel Endowment Fund for the Arts Award champions projects that celebrate the integration of technology and the arts, supporting projects with the potential to significantly advance the artist’s practice or have an impact on the community.
The Community Arts Educator Award recognizes excellence in community arts education and the accomplishments of Ottawa-based artists who provide unique and creative learning experiences that inspire future generations and community art projects that engage Ottawa residents.
The Young Artist Award is a project-based, mentorship-driven youth arts award established for the recognition and encouragement of young Ottawa-based artists, aged 14 – 17 years old, demonstrating exceptional potential and a commitment to excellence in any art form.
