I joined the team as counsel in 2011. For over 40 years, I have provided expert legal services to the Eastern Ontario public. The three pillars of my practice are corporations, real estate, and wills and estates. In the real estate field, I have been recognized for my expertise in land development matters, including subdivision and condominium work on behalf of builders and developers. I have also practiced extensively in the field of municipal law.
After obtaining my Bachelor of Arts degree (with a concentration on Economics and Philosophy) from Carleton University, I attended law school at the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1973. I was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1975 and, after completing my articles with a prominent Ottawa law firm, helped establish the law firm of Guest and Carroll. After returning to my place of articles and becoming partner, I left private practice to work in-house as general counsel for an Ottawa developer, where I gained further experience in the areas of general real estate law, including land development and municipal law. In 1990, I decided to return to private practice, operating as a sole-practitioner in the areas of general real estate law and land development.
When not engaged in legal work, I enjoy golfing, woodworking, welding and gardening. I serve on the board of a homeowners’ association and manage its website.
