I am a lawyer in firm’s Estate Litigation and Commercial Litigation practice groups with broad litigation experience. While my practice primarily focuses on complex estate and trust disputes, I routinely act on administrative and public law matters and provide opinions and act in appeals. I am a member of the Bars of Ontario and British Columbia and have successfully represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and Ontario and appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada.
My estates and trusts practice is broad and includes contested applications for validating and propounding wills and other testamentary documents, incapacity claims, removal of executors, BC wills variation claims, dependant’s relief claims, rectification of testamentary documents, power of attorney disputes, and the construction of wills and trust instruments. I also act as counsel in committeeship and adult guardianship applications.
My public and administrative law experience is varied and diverse and includes judicial reviews of a variety of administrative actors, representing public bodies before the Privacy Commissioner, and the enforcement of letters rogatory, among other disputes. I also routinely act in matters relating to the 2SLGBTQi+ community and legal matters affecting people living with HIV, sex workers, and other marginalized communities.
I also act as a Supreme Court of Canada agent for counsel who are located away from the National Capital Region. I assist counsel with administrative and substantive aspects of their appeals including advising on the rules and requirements of the SCC, managing the service and filing of materials according to the Rules of the Supreme Court, assisting with the drafting of leave to appeal applications and in drafting factums on appeal.
Before joining Mann Lawyers I practiced law in the Vancouver office of a national law firm and at prominent Western Canadian firms. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia (2014), a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa (2018), and a Master of Laws (High Honours) from Columbia Law School (2024). While completing my Master of Laws I was awarded the Law Society of British Columbia Scholarship for Graduate Legal Studies.
When I am not at the office I enjoy reading, playing board games, skiing, cycling and spending time with my partner, family, and friends.
