Bonjour! I’m a bilingual, dedicated, and empathetic lawyer, executor, and trustee with a knack for strategic thinking and problem-solving for my clients. I’ve built and led teams of lawyers and clerks, represented clients at the Superior Court of Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. I’ve also co-founded a high-tech pharmaceutical company while acting as its general counsel.

I help families and business owners plan for and execute what is often their single largest transfer of wealth. I advise individuals, couples, retirees, business owners, adult children of aging parents, aging parents of adult children, family members of incapacitated individuals, and family members of individuals with diminished capacity. I provide legal and strategic advice on estate planning, estate administration, consent and capacity issues, and substitute decision making, including Powers of Attorney. I also help resolve disputes between family members in the estate administration and substitute decision making contexts. I act as executor and trustee, and I assist executors and trustees. I plan estates and I help administer them for my clients’ loved ones in difficult times.

I’m a graduate of the University of Ottawa with Majors in Philosophy and Public Administration, where I held a leadership position in student government. I also completed a Master’s degree in Philosophy on the University of Ottawa Admission Scholarship in 2011. I earned a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014, where I led its student government and was awarded the Dean’s Gold Key Award. I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015.

I’m a regular public speaker on estate and trust law matters, advanced care planning, health law, and consent and capacity issues. I’m also a past advisor to a national not-for-profit organization on health law.

I’m a past board member of a hospital, past university lecturer, and a published author on health law, consent and capacity. I love my clients, and they are the reason I show up for work.

Formerly ranked 1st in North America in elite club rowing, I’m a disciplined single sculler who brings the balance and discipline of rowing to everything that I do. I read widely, write and publish poetry and am the past Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Philosophy Journal Hermes.

Most importantly, I’m a husband and a father.
